As per the queries raised by many customers, here we made the clarification as follows towards advance deposit amount to be paid and first bill amount to be paid.
Here any customer have to pay two types of deposit amount / charges to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited for provision of telecom services when subscribed, they are
- Security Deposit in Advance
- Charges / Deposit in First Bill in addition to regular bill amount.
The Advance Deposit is a refundable security amount to be paid by the customer for provision of telecom service like Landline, DSL Broadband or Bharat Fiber Internet and other.
Deposit in First Bill includes Modem Security which is a refundable amount, and the installation charges which are non refundable as one time charges and are mandatory to be paid.

Can i pay security deposit again, if paid one year or higher payment charges in advance?
Those customers who are willing to pay Advance Rental Charges Annual / 2 /3 years are not required to pay the refundable security deposit.
If changed from yearly plan to monthly, can i charge for security deposit?
Yes, upon migration to monthly billing plan, necessary security deposit charges may include in the next coming telephone bill.
Can i pay security deposit for modem, if taken on purchase?
It is not required, because this case is considered as Outright Purchase which is not applicable for security deposit amount to be paid to BSNL.
